I have been a professional photographer for more than a decade.  My areas of expertise include portraits and sports.  When covering an event my goal is to make the viewer feel as if they are right there.  I use my understanding of the principles of light to create dynamic, colorful images.

My background and formal training in photojournalism have prepared me to capture a wide range of events and think quickly on my feet.

An unending enthusiasm and strong work ethic are just two of my greatest attributes.

Some of my top accomplishments include covering Super Bowl XL in Detroit, the 2007 World Series, published images in Sports Illustrated including twice in the prestigious Leading Off section, and cover assignments for Sporting News magazine.  My work has appeared in major publications in North America and Europe including Time Magazine, Elle Girl Magazine, The New York Times, The Cleveland Plain Dealer, among others. Some of my current clients include Sporting News magazine, USA Today and the University of Michigan.

Previous to opening my business full-time I was a staff photographer at the University of Michigan covering all aspects of university life and served as the team photographer for the varsity men's ice hockey team for four years.

While at the University of Michigan I earned the 2007 Photographer of the Year award from the University Photographers’ Association of America (UPAA).  This is just one of the many awards earned in state and national competitions.  Other awards include the William Randolph Hearst Competition 2004 sixth place in Sports/News category, second place sports in the 2003 College Photographer of the Year competition, Ohio News Photographer’s Association (ONPA) Student Photographer of the Year 2003 runner-up, and 2003 Circle of Excellence Gold Award from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
